We’ve been on the road for 25 days so far, and relatively speaking, we haven’t gotten very far! We’re on our last stretch of BC days with Kamloops tonight, Quesnel tomorrow, Prince George on Wednesday, and then we’re back into Alberta for four shows and from there it’s pretty much a straight shot east!
It’s been a great journey so far. We’ve encountered avalanches (Kootenay Pass), miniature horses (near Chilliwack), a sterling silver nose flute (Duncan), surfing (Long Beach), a 15 ft high stage (Chilliwack), multiple games of Settlers of Catan, and so many wonderful people. We got to play with Jordan Klassen and Jamison Troy for a few shows in the lower mainland, and with Naomi Middlemiss and Kaskaskia for a few island shows, which was definitely a blast.
People always ask us about how we eat and where we stay, and I’m happy to say that we’ve had places to stay every night (except for one) and we’ve been blessed with lots of really good food. We seem to make friends with people who are really healthy eaters, so our road food currently consists of crackers, homemade granola, a salad with mixed greens, beets, carrots, and cucumbers, and homemade chips. I mean, we’ve had to resort to our Subway gift cards a few times, but I am not complaining!
We just finished a little video montage of the first week of tour, which puts some images to a few things I’ve mentioned. We’ll try and get a few more up as we go.
Until next time, thanks so much to all of you for your support as we embark on this journey, and hopefully we’ll see you all at a show soon!!
